Disaster Relief Preperation
We are all well aware of the flood victims in the Autumn Woods Subdivision and the refugees from New Orleans during hurricane Katrina. Some may not be aware that an organization in Nashville TN has been a tremendous help with donations of flood cleaning supplies, food, bedding, refrigerators and ranges to help us help those in need.
The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort Inc. is a collection of our brothers and sisters from Nashville TN that have, since 1991, been amoung the first on the scene of all different type of disasters to help people with food, clothing and other essential to return them to a normal life. They recieve these materials in bulk quantity and are in constant need of people to help break the bulk quantity and repack into smaller boxes that can be given to indivduals and families, as well as people to help load trucks so that these supplies can be shipped literally at a moments notice to wherever they are needed. From the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 in New York City to the tornado in Memphis July 2003 to the wildfires in Yucca Valley CA in July of this year; they were there. Our disaster was the 249th time in 14 years they have come to the aid of those in need. (an average of over 17 times a year)
We would like to take a group to Nashville for a day or two to help them in this, often, life saving ministry. If you would be interested in going to Nashville for a day or two to help pack boxes and/or load trucks please sign up and we will coordinate a time with the Churches fo Christ Disaster Relief Effort Inc. to go and help them.
With as much as they have helped us help others we feel this is something that we
should do to help them help others.
